Unlike therapy, which seeks to understand the past and relies on the therapist’s expertise regarding diagnosable disorders, life coaching focuses almost exclusively on the future and keeps the focus on moving towards measurable goals and objectives. Life coaching is not about exploring how you developed as a person, but rather how to get you from where you are today into the future that you desire (and that you may need help designing).  As your coach, my role is to help you clearly assess your situation and then design, with you, a plan that will enhance the resources, skills, and creativity that already reside within you to get you where you want to go.

You may benefit from coaching if you need help with

  • Managing time for a better work/life balance
  • Career development or change
  • Exercise or weight change goals (when there is not an entrenched eating disorder that would be better treated with therapy)
  • Project launch to completion (finishing a manuscript,  taking a singing “hobby” from the privacy of the shower to the stage, starting a business)
  • Setting up effective household and family systems around homework, chores, discipline, etc
  • Struggle with concentration or attention “deficit” issues
